when you apply for a retail/service job make sure that you indicate you are available for ANY shift. Never put that you don't want to work weekends or that you can't work holidays, because that is the first thing they look at when they get your application. You must put that you are willing to work whatever shift they need, if you put on your application anything restricting when you are available to work they will throw it out.

And don't just spell check. PROOF READ YOUR RESUME. I used to be a resume pre-screener and a spelling mistake = in the trash. Spelling mistakes or grammatical errors or wrong words due to auto correct show you have no attention to detail, are lazy, whatever.

Plus it drives the grammar police nuts.
