empty expansion area

I expanded into a new area this morning and when I did it was empty. all the trees, rocks, mushrooms etc that were there a minute before had gone. not sure if this is a bug or new change?

That's not a bug and its not new. There are a couple of empty squares. It gives you space without having to use energy to clear.

This happened to me as well. Kinda sucks cause I look forward to harvesting the wood/rock and all of that. lol. But oh well, on the bright side, didn't have to wait for the energy to do all of that!
