How long did you really try for your Diamond?

I've been playing for almost four month and still nothing.
I have all the other dragons, though. Even the famous limited edition halloween dragons.
I sure hope I get the diamond soon... I'm getting slightly annoyed!

I received my Diamond on the 3rd try using Eagle/Island, both level 10. I'm not sure what level I was at in the game, but it wasn't very high at the time. Possibly in the mid 20's or so
