Expansion problem

I just expanded to the north, spent 40,000 coins. It took my money but the expansion hasn't worked. When I click on the area again, it shows check marks next to the money, the wisp lanterns and the royal points are at 100%. I've shut down the app but its still not taking effect. Should I uninstall? Is this a known issue? Thx.

I've reinstalled game and still no luck. No expansion and my money is still gone.

Although it says you have enough, you still only have 657 Royal Points. If you get 3 more Royal Points, you will be able to expand into this area.
