You just put both Dragons you used in it then tells you all of the possibilities you can get. Even has the egg times so you can narrow it down right after you hit breed

There is also hyper Chs tool that you can put both dragons in and put in the time and it tells you the dragon you are getting. The link is on the wiki.

I use this site all the time. Very useful.
Try fire and water. I get it almost every time. I wanted lunar ram. Got it finally after about 5 magic dragons.
