Birdball blue/yellow 8 hours

I am so confused
I got the birdball using these dragons

Blue blob/fire fox. Blue/red
Blue blob/ dream bird. Blue/yellow

What I do not get is how I can I get a blue/yellow using a blue/red monsters

I can place it in the blue or yellow habitat even if it comes from blue/red monster

I just got the Furball with Blue Blob and Fire Fox. Breed time is 7 hours.

I also got the Birdball with the Blue Blob and Dream Bird. Breed time is 8 hours.

I only had 25 gold set aside, so I can't try again.
