What if I expand to the lake...

I saw a neighbor's city without a lake. I wonder if expanding there will cover up the lake?

When I expanded over a lake, I had to use energy to clear off the water but I did not get to keep the water.

Wanted to give a little heads up to everyone :

I expanded over the water today. Once expansion finished, I will now have to clear off 20 waters.


I already did a couple, and they did NOT go into my inventory.(I think bigbux asked this on another thread).

I did. They should become water tiles though.

Thanks Kooky! I didn't it was mentioned before. I better not to expand there. To me the lake looks much impressive than the water tile and I would like to keep the lake in fact.
