    That's also flag day in Pennsylvania....the only state which observes it, IIRC.

    As for December 22 (my birthday); without googling, I know it was the day in 1944 when the Commander of the 101st Airborne Division, completely surrounded by Germans in Bastogne was asked to surrender.

    His reply was "Nuts".....although some say he used a stronger word.
