Pet hotel task didn't work

Game version: 1.0.3. Device: ios5.5.1. The task: help Bella floorboards: I already finished the soulmate and baby, the task still require to do it. And I tried to add soulmate again, but the add button in the task didn't work.

Some of the goals are not retroactive. If you already had the soulmate and/or baby for this room, before you got the goal, you will need to buy the room again so you can get another soulmate/baby to complete the task.

I have the same problem with both this "Help Bella" and "Roman Holiday", however I did not start or complete the rooms until the task asked me to do so; it has nothing to do with retroactiveness for my case. It checked off "build the <insert room here>" task after I completed the rooms, but never checked off "add a soulmate..." after I added one, or even after I added a baby to them but the baby task has been checked off. Any other solution other than re-buying the same room to fix it?
