How do you earn gems?

There is no feature within the game that will reward Gems at this time.

I recommend you check out our Forum Events and Contests and our Facebook page, where we host many events and contests that give out free items, Gems, CCash, and Gold!

So why not make more goals? Why not make gem goals or mastery goals?

I have the same problem but I worked it out. Try cooking stuff that are 16 hours to 2 days or something. For example, cook boiled lobster over and over. You will get a gem each time you reach a goal.
