What you are most likely seeing is the Emoji app. Not sure on Android, but you can get a free version for iOS at the app store.
You don't need an app to get the basic ones. Just go into Settings > Keyboard > and enable Emoji
Edit: Settings > Keyboard > International Keyboards > Add New Keyboard...Emoji

Ive noticed lots of different fonts and icons used in DS, ive got an iPhone so can do some icons (not all though!) but not fancy fonts...
How do you do fancy fonts?

What about the icons, are there new ones or are they all from emoji?
Have one question, as most of players noticed, there are many symbols ppl use in names no matter of forgidden popup. But mine even i use same as others cant want to take it even it is less than 15 signs, Can i pls know why i cant name my DS game as i wish? Pls tell me i will wait. I type from computer so cant paste that name, here, but if needed i will paste later from ipad at least there it will be here viewed ok. But i want to put this name to my older iphone.
