I'm not sure I've only bought one bakery box my main game is restaurant maybe the picnic basket

None why waste 24 gems to get something which you won't like and just leave in storage I have I donut machine through been totally naive in thinking when I taped on the box the items would be revealed and I could choose which one I wanted! Oh how wrong was I never again unless the change it!
If you're planning to wait until the 26th, you better keep a close eye in that finger of yours. Gems traps are everywhere! After losing many gems, I never hold them more than a day or two before I make my purchase.
Just a word to the wise.
Pick your box and go for it ... Although I think it's best to open an appliance alot

I think Donut box or Cake and Tea box. These boxes have fairly good items and dont have items where you'd need to get two of a kind of an item (which may be rare to happen)
I just bought the Donut box yesterday and got the condiment counter. Bought from the Cake and Tea about a month ago and got the Dainty Piano.
Cake and Tea and the Picnic Baskets have the widest variety and are usually of higher quality.
It depends on the theme of your bakery!
But I like the items in the Madeleine tin and the Cake & Tea box.
