Some places in north Canada have been low as -30 degrees.
It's 12 degrees in South Wales, UK, and it's rather wet!

Oh yes it exists. And that's without the windchill factor. It's normal to have a couple weeks around minus 40 celcius, sometimes more here. Skin freezes in minutes. I have many cool hats.
Make that minus 60 and you're correct.
We're almost as cold.
