a gem instead of a gnome?

I just mastered level 4 of my greenbeans and I got a gem instead of a gnome!

I still don't know whether I like it better or not.. because I do like the gnomes on my farm.
Did anyone else had this too?
Yesterday I mastered level 4 of the blackberries and did get my gnome.

Well, poo. I'd rather have more boy gnomes. I've been moving several crops up to just under mastery hoping that they would switch back to boy gnomes. Oh well. I guess I'll be stock piling even more gems!

I envy that you can stockpile gems. Let's see what TL have to say for themselves

Well. that's the answer to what we are supposed to do with all the accumulating gnomes ! Not the one I was expecting - or like. Maybe something else will appear. It's hardly an appropriate prize for 4.000 mastery points hard earned - particularly as you also get one gem (do we still ?) for 1,000 LP's at mastery level two.
