I am new to Restaurant Story and have noticed that people on lower levels have grills and more cooking appliances es than I do at a higher level. Why am I unable to purchase an appliance? It says I have to be at level 19.

Some appliances and food are only available after you finish a level, same for expansion and availability of certain item. Try speeding up your level, get more neighbors, cook more food, put more chairs and tables at your restaurant to gain more money, and be able to cook more, there is a gauge for certain food, when you click on it, like brownies, you will see it has a rating 1-5, that is the mastery level, once you master every food in one level, that is how you up a level quicker.
