Yes. It goes backwards into its hole then pops up again and blinks.

We do have a leaderboard though. The fox is the prize. What faeries are you referring to?

There is a leaderboard, foxes count as monsters (and spawn from chickens) and you only need four to get faerie chest. The cheapest rocky outcrop is plant-in-a-log, again you only need 4 to get the faerie chest. Collecting from 10 animals is easy because chickens count as animals, again reward is faerie chest.

As for leaderboard chickens also spawn fangbeasts. Swans also spawn foxes and fangbeasts. Blue dire boar spawn from dead tree , but it only works once a day. Purple golems spawn from most horses at 100% spawn rate. These goals are adept challenge, novice challenge and sovereign challenge.

All faerie dire situations and adept, novice and sovereign challenges rest every day. Just keep checking blue book.

If your leaderboard has not shown try force close and open again. Keep checking in the blue book for fairly dire situations and the faerie chest requirements. The info is also usually on first page of each event, including drops, where to find items and what prizes you're after.

Fun fact: Opening a faerie chest also counts as chopping a rock towards getting more faerie chests! So does chopping a snowball pile or whatever it's called for the Baron's Tent snowballs.
