Veggie Picker not working - not functioning

The Veggie Picker is not working as a pet. Can't feed it & can't put it away like other 'pets'. please fix this for me.

Have you tried collecting from the Veggie Picker with the bucket, then feeding the Veggie Picker with the Fruit Salad produced in Specialty Goods?

This issue is now resolved. I did not realize that I had to run the pail over the character. I feel pretty dense about this. thank you for all the help!
