There hasn’t been posts about either as of yet but I don’t want to collect/adventure just in case there is a requirement, want to do the first stage in the week for the timed reward

I didn’t even get the splash screens for this event, but am glad we get to do more expansions. On Thursdays I usually make sure I don’t collect from Ivy or start an adventure in prep for Fri starts of events. I really appreciate all the posts player put up about sections they have done, I really like the guidance. So thank you all!

Apparently no, we don't need to collect from Ivy.
And yes, this one adventure should be the only one.

You only need the adventure for one goal. I do not know if the sand is a guaranteed drop or not, so you might need multiple adventures to get the sand. However, once you get the sand, you do not need more adventures for this storyline.

Scorpions spawn from both the Round Cactus and the Tall Cactus so you can have some variety in your realms.

Collecting from my barracks counted for the adventure.

Worked for me too. I had a Barracks adventure ready for collection and it worked no problem.
