Anyone else having any issues getting the gnomish mine to upgrade to level 2? I had all the supplies I needed and hit "build" but nothing appeared to happen.

You have to upgrade to level 1 first and then to level 2 to clear the goal. The look of the mine doesn't change and that made me really look at the upgrade screen to confirm. This may have been what you experienced too.

Changing topics re the 500k items, I bought one each of those and had no issues with coins.

Sharing knowledge time!

Remember you get a Magnoliopal Tree for completing all the goals from part 1. I bought a tree too (well I bought the yellow one too but it's not ready yet). It's dropped the red fangblood gem and the other one dropped a penstemonium.

I also spawned a goblin bandit when I was in part 1 so I'd suggest you get rid of any monsters. I had 2 spawn so far and it didn't drop the flag the second time.

OMG SpiritWind. Thank you so much. I don't remember an item that came "built" that had to upgrade to level 1 and then to level 2. Usually they are unbuilt and the appearance changes when you go from unbuilt to level 1. I just thought nothing was upgrading. Guess I'll have to get some more supplies together to progess.

Just a quick one for anyone who knows. We can craft the goblin thief, are we gonna get the chance for the goblin bandit too? Just for some variety if any of us wish to craft multiples. Also,does the thief drop anything once we craft it? 40 flags is fine,but the 10 grogs and the emerald leaves make it a tad expensive tho, to be crafting too many. Tho I do like the idea of several goblins in my invading horde ( when I get around to setting it up ;-D ).

After you upgrade the mine to level 5, you get goblin grief. That says: Clear a geode rock, defeat a goblin thief, find a goblin flag.
