Does the 30 day timer on Part 2 start the moment you learn Spun Sugar Spell (last step of Part 1)? If yes, that alone is a good enough reason not to collect Spun Sugar Spell until after the next event ends. Yes, I already got my Spun Sugar Steed.

Assuming of course the event actually interests me.

It does not start immediately.

When you collect the craft, you get a lot of pop-ups. One of those pop-ups is Goal 1 for part 2. (It is the Baron asking if you are ready for a challenge.) The 30 day timer does not start unless you hit GO. Do not hit go and you can wait as long as you want to start Part 2.

Will chopping Acer trees do?

No, because that would be too easy with the other story lines. They instead make us use a 4x4 tree that gives 1-3 candied leaves. This is awful!

I?ve been using my expanded island area like an ugly storage shed no one wants in their backyard. I keep my crops and weeds and extra trees down there for WW so I have started growing my forest down there. My kingdom is in hideous decorative chaos at the moment anyway. Too embarrassed for new neighbors to check it out

I did not press GO. Now the start of Part 2 is in my goal book, and I can wait until Zelda is ready to collect instead of gemming ahead to get a jump on the next steps.

Oopsie! Started part 2 'cuz of no WW most likely... forgot to get tavern out and wait for it to be ready. Der. : )

Um, recap... first goal is visit tavern and Zelda, both 8 hrs. Speed up Zelda 3 gems from GOAL BOOK.

Previous experience says NO, because this is main story line rather than an event. Events do not care what kind of tree, but story lines do.
