well, without us knowing every single move you made we can't tell you what the heck happened. Somehow you finished Chapter 8 early. For everyone else that started on first day, Chapter 9 won't start until tomorrow. So that part is right.
BUT the mystery remains on how you got through Chapter 8 so easily. You had to fight trolls 3 times, visit 2 taverns, give pasta, go on "adventures that takes 2 hours. And collect needed items.
It's very hard to understand. No one else has gotten to Chapter 9 unless they spent gems.
If you contact S8 Support don't select "gameplay". Select Bugs & Issues.
Sorry. But maybe someone else can figure it all out.
I think S8 Support can track your moves and help you out.

all the tasks from chapter 8 where completed yesterday but today when i opened the icon the game brought me back to play chapter 8 to fight kissing troll when i ****ed 3 trolls the game stopped and threw me out. I restarted and saw that I had to wait another 16 hours. What does this mean??

OK. Hers's my best guess. Obviously just a guess. If you were awake when Chapter 8 opened, you were able to finish Chapter 8 easily because I'm guessing ( notice guessing) that you had everything ready to go- such as 2 taverns ready, pastas made, and adventure ready to collect. GUESSING! Then you upgraded. With items you had stocked up on. But that will not open Chapter 9 early. You still have to wait for it to open tomorrow.
Notice I used the word Guessing a lot.
I cannot give definite answer.
Having to fight trolls again remains a mystery.

Ако сте били будни, когато Глава 8 се е отворила, сте могли лесно да завършите Глава 8, защото предполагам (забележете отгатване), че сте имали всичко готово - например 2 таверни, направени макарони и готови за събиране приключения. УГАДАНЕ! След това сте надстроили. С предмети, с които сте се запасили. Но това няма да отвори глава 9 по-рано. Все още трябва да изчакате да се отвори утре.
Забележете, че използвах думата Угаждане много.
Не мога да дам категоричен отговор.
Необходимостта да се бием отново с тролове остава загадка.

Chapter 9 does not start for at least 9 more hours (S8 is in the Pacific Daylight Savings Time Zone and the new chapter starts after Midnight there).
You are not losing any time but are on the right day.
I am in the Central Daylight Savings Time Zone so am 2 hours later than S8. I started the day the Storybook goal came out & will be on Chapter 9 tomorrow too.

You can ask S8 Support to compensate the energy you've wasted for ****ing 3 Trolls again.
You can send them this screenshot. It shows that something wrong with your game. The "Event expires in" time shouldn't be 0 days.
But you still have to wait for the next Chapter like everybody else or pay gems.

Ahhhh!! I LOVE THIS! So cool. I?ve always hated those trees but you make them look great, I better rethink it! I?ve been working on my own mushroom area and am kicking myself for not buying Porcini when he came around last sale. I cultivate gourmet mushrooms and am an all around fungi lover!
