I don?t think there?s ever a need to buy food outright in DS. Any goals that require food in Tales can be skipped very easily for much less gold than gold required to buy food required to complete the goal. You might also be better off speed farming (with a boost) with the same gold u would have spent. I think ur guaranteed to get more food than buying it out right. If you did this during a points based event you would be contributing to more event points. Unlike coins where u can?t use gold to speed up coin creation.
