@SpiritWind, in the first post where you mention how to get the Fairie Chest for clearing rocks - chopping a Faerie Chest also counts as a chopped rock. So if you have 4 Faerie Chests saved up, you can hit this goal with just 4 chops.

I'm getting better spawn rates of the fangbeast from my other animals. Sheep and chickens mostly.

If I don't need them, fangbeasts are constantly popping up. For 2 days, I have tried all of the usual spawn sources. Nada!

I'm getting decent spawn rates from rock outcroppings. If I've done my math correctly, I need 12 more. If I'd gotten fangbeasts instead of direboars, I'd be done fighting monsters.

Direboars also spawn from my ponds.

It's also a good idea to chop your rock outcropping only 19/20. Then you can finish them off with one chop when you get the goal.
