As of now, scrolls are obtained only through certain events. The current event is giving scrolls.

You can earn more only by participating in events where scrolls are prizes.
There has been a long break recently in getting scrolls during events.
The present event offers such an opportunity.
I think we all hope that we will be able to get more scrolls in the upcoming events.

I mistakenly didn't know I should have unlocked Errol earlier so I have been waiting to finally get more scrolls to claim him as I was 150 scrolls or so with Brandon claimable but not Errol. Now with this new questline I will have enough to claim Errol and his griffin for 200 scrolls but as Idris and the Griffins are both daily energy droppers but Idris also can drop tokens I am torn.

I have most but not all of the mythical research energy droppers (i dont have the lion and i can still claim one more direwolf) plus all golden peacocks and mithril knight, 2 glimmer dragons so I have a good percentage of the research center animals that are more useful. So.. the question is for the folks that have had some drops from Idris and/or the griffins which one would be better to unlock first? The tokens seem like they would be more useful now as I can still claim some more animals that are useful ... but if the energy drops seem to be better with the griffin?

Any thoughts?? Especially since it is unknown how many scrolls will be obtainable in the near future....

I don't think it really makes much difference who you awaken first. Errol is not part of the original storyline; he's an addition like Chase and Kelcie. Looks like both the griffin and Idris have the same energy drops. I'll keep tracking drops and post as I'm sure others will too.
