I haven?t used a boost in ages, but I don?t think mine is working correctly?

Carnivorous Fish are supposed to take 2 hours, so with a boost it should take 1 hour. The timer should still say 2 hours, but it just counts down twice as fast.....is that right? Because what is actually happening is the timer is counting down from 4 hours, but twice as fast, so it will take 2 hours, but that?s the same length of time that it would take without the boost, so what?s then the point of the boost? It?s being wasted?

It also needs 8 gems to speed it up, whereas it should only need 4 gems with the boost.

Yes, it should count down faster from 2 hours, not 4.
Mine are working properly, but a lot of people posted the same problem.
You could make a ticket? (although I read some comments of people who did and the problem didn't get fixed)
I'm sorry about the bug, good luck with the event nevertheless!

I made it! I‘ve just crafted Eoin.
Level 33, no boosts, no gems. 2 wizard schools and 3 alicorns and continuous crafting and chopping.

Me too! No gems, but used 2 boosts. Only 1 wizard school and zero alicorns! Can I ask how did u get so many alicorns?? I'm on level 36 but have only 35 gold tokens. Been waiting forever for another monster hunt!

The alicorns actually didn?t help much as they have a weekly timer. I got them from watching ads. Guess I was lucky.

Still slogging away. I have 30 carnivorous fish to make, then the 16 marble aquariums then...
It's going to be days but I only have crafting left (plus about 120 kelp) so atleast I can work on what storms may come.

Me too! I need two more under water plants still. I?ve got all the pebbles I need, but I just need 31 Moore fish and 24 more teeth.

I?m just finishing goal #9 today using boosts. I?ve even snuck off on my breaks at work to try to keep up but I?m almost sure I won?t finish :-(
