It references the attack combo that they used; ie. B= Bash & M= Magic... the “upper case” I believe refers to whether that hit was a “critical” hit or not, meaning how much damage that hit did.... but I’m sure someone here can elaborate

This is exactly what it is. B is bash M is magic. If the letter is capitalized then it was a critical hit, lower case, minor hit.

All dragons have a percentage assigned to them against certain opponents. In the case of a level 8 Angelfire, any level Metal has a 45% chance of winning, any Diamond has a 55% chance of winning. What some players in tournaments past failed to realize is there's a chance to lose. In Angelfire's case, the Metal had a 55% chance of losing and Diamond had a 45% chance of losing. This explains why some people can win with certain dragons but others can lose with the same dragon.
In later battles with champions, the percentage goes down to 10% in most cases, 15% for ADIPS dragons which means the odds are stacked to where there's an 85-90% chance of losing. People have said the tourneys are rigged. I can't agree with certainty to that.

This is only round #6. It’s not even that far into the tourney. The opponent dragon is only level 8. And yet I’m blocked severely from progressing. Everything is at a standstill. I can’t even do the fights for bingo. The spa is piled high with injured dragons

I'm probably jinxing this but I've used Metal level 15 against the first pure champ for the past few tournies so it's just become a thing for me. In the past I was very successful using Fire level 15.

Take a look at everyone's results. Is there someone who has similar winning dragons? My winning dragons may work well in my game but some dragons seem to work great for some but not for others. I always pout about the fact that the Dark dragon is fantastic for some people but is really bad in my game.

If it were me I'd try my high level common dragons or maybe something from dragon tales.

Next I threw Diamond 15 at it. Failed too. So then I started throwing level 14s at it. These 14s are from Tales events as they’re the only ones I fed to 14. I also threw other 20+ dragons at it, ranging in various levels from baby level 1 to common epics 12.

ALL FAILED

This angelfire is only round #6 of the tourney and yet I’m being blocked like it’s round 15 and beyond. I just need to get past it so I can do bingo tasks and not fall behind due to having to refresh every friggen fight task on the bingo card

Try with any Beast type you have.
My Direwolf L10 on both islands beat

Rogue 12 &
Neo Valiant 16.

Only Neo Valiant 16 needed a 2nd try on my L200 island.

However, Direwolf got trashed 3 times by Skeletal Knight 19 so I had to revert to Dark15 which promptly KO SK19 first try on both islands.

are you playing on an android device? If so, look for skyharbor's tip for clearing your cache. The game seems to sometimes get "stuck". I've been having quite a few rollbacks.

When I started battling I rarely had the dragons that seemed successful. I had to get creative. If I didn't have the winning dragon, I looked for something similar. When people used Beast (purple-blue) I used Mistmoth. And I found that my own breedable super rares stellar fighters ... Fortune Teller and Landworm are still some of my best fighters. How are your common dragons? Some people complete the tournaments using ONLY common dragons.

I know it's tempting to feel that the game is rigged but I think the difficulties that players experience is possibly more a side effect of the game coding. I've worked with Big Fish Games developers on a similar game and Storm8 does not have the level of resources or sophistication.

I would definitely say if you're playing on an Android device then clear your cache. Sometimes that helps or restart your device when you know the dragon will lose. You have to remember the loss percentages don't change every time you use the same dragon. If a dragon has a 55% chance of losing it'll have the same 55% chance of losing if you use it again. I know this streak on an early champion is frustrating. Trust me, I've been through it in my earlier days of playing. You'll get past Angelfire. I know you will. Also, you don't necessarily need level 15 dragons to beat champions (although it helps). I've beaten late champions with a level 8 Landworm, level 8 Mist, level 7 Luck, level 4 Coral and level 1 True Love before. Don't sleep on your common dragons no matter the level. They can surprisingly come through in a pinch and they don't necessarily need to be level 15 either. Good luck.
