I'm thinking my next Essence craft should be Aquarknight. He seems to be consistently good from your results. Just need to be able to feed him-lol.
I've been experimenting using lower level, but good choices for non-tourney battles. I lost 6 times to Deep with proper opponent dragons. Looks like I need go with higher levels unless I get lucky. So now there's a line at the spa!
It is not just Aquaknight(Champ.Tropic).
All the hybrid Champions with one other type/color will have at least 2-0 advantage against types which are weak against that type/color.
e. g. Andromeda(Cosmic.Red)
Red is weak vs Tropic (0-1)
Cosmic.Red are weak vs Champ. (0-2)
So Andromeda is 0-3 vs Aquaknight.
Cleric(Champ.White.Blue) vs Mithril(Champ.Metal)
Blue is weak vs Metal (0-1)
{Champ. has no effect on Metal}
White.Blue are weak vs Champ(0-2)
Battle Arena Champ. has a slight advantage vs player's Champ. (say arbitrary 0.25 -0)
So net advantage is (0.25 - 3)=2.75 to Mithril.
Weakness/advantage of Rarity & Level are not taken into account.
That's why many of us try to have all the hybrid Champions available
BTW, hybrid Champions are the wrong choice vs pure Champions as the hybrid type/color are weakness vs a pure Champion.
Mithril(Champ.Metal) is a poorer choice than Metal dragon vs a pure Champion as a player's Champion is slightly weaker.

Thank you Retseho for the informative post. It is very helpful to get a better grasp of these dragon battles and how Champ types determine a better chance for success.
Food is my problem so I'm trying not to put any more dragons out than I can tend to.
Adding Achilles has been very beneficial, but is an example of serious resource drain. Not easy to be patient but has allowed time for careful decision making.
As others have pointed out, we all seem to have dragons that work for us but not necessarily others.
Magic types and non color elements are still confusing to me.

I had so many losses I can’t count, but I noticed that my dragons worked similar to Nuicakes dragons.

I think Aquarknight is the next dragon I have to level up. He is only Level 10 and I’m in lack of food.

I just ignore the types which I have no info about its strength/weakness & select my dragon based on the known type/color of the opponent dragon.
e.g. opponent dragon(elemental.Red)
I have no info about elemental so I select a dragon strong against Red, in this case, Blue,Yellow, Stone, Tropic, Champion.
We do have dragons with (Yellow.Blue),
(Tropic.Blue), (Champ.Blue), (Champ.Yellow)
which can be used against it.
Baby account won the dragon yesterday using Neo Glasswing for almost every round. Older accounts are still limping along - so close, but only a few hours left.
