I know the instructions say to breed White with Red, but I managed to breed this pairing a Yule Dragon (Holiday & Green) with a Virtue Dragon (Pink).

Expect long failures for this latest ultra-rare-common if you breed White and Red as instructed cause you're likely to breed a 33-hour Virtue Dragon. Breeding Pink and White might work and the longest failure with that combination is an 18-hour Melody Dragon.

It seems that the in-game instructions on breeding with White and Red may very well be wrong. Players breeding with that combination have all been reporting failures. Successful breeding occurs only when the Holiday element (the red gift box) is included in the breeding.

On one den I went with obvious Light and Fire and of course 33 hours popped up. On my other den I used Yule and Kitsune and have 4 hours.

I was able to get the Peppermint Mocha on the first try with Yule and Virtue! It usually takes me days to breed the needed dragons for these events!!

Don’t feel bad I quit playing this event for that reason and the fact that I forces you to use real money if you want to finish because the food is a stupid amount. No need to feed a dragon to level 14, not to mention the other road blocks they throw in there like use your dragon for a quest and raise the same dragon to another level, kind of hard to do when you can only use the dragon for one thing at a time. Totally dumb IMHO.

I saw the red/white combo and broke into a cold sweat. Virtue, the 33 hr curse of a dragon. Present element opens us up to green/white undesirables and more.
Had Elder and 2 Pegasus among Stones and Fuzzys from world event. I fear it but need to try something. Hopefully you got your long fail out of the way and get it next try! GL☘️

How do you know what seems like the "best" combination that works so quickly?

Got a Firegrass and now an Elder is currently being bred.

I think I’m going to skip this even though there’s time to get it.
