    SALE: Halloween 2018 Sale (Oct 21-Nov 1)

Well it's about time! I was getting worried they wouldn't have a sale.

Anyway, it seems pretty expansive to me. There's even a little bit of non-halloween content, which is nice for those who don't celebrate.

I am super thrilled they brought back the Spooky Window and Plant Monster! Those are two of the items I was too cheap to purchase way back when I first started playing and have been wanting them ever since.

While it's nice that they offered some non-Halloween items for those who don't celebrate, I do think there were some better choices than what they did choose but that's just a matter of personal preference.

Overall, I think this is one of the best sales we've had in years. Not only is everything half off, but there are a lot of items to choose from. They've covered there bases well and there's literally something for everyone!

As I've never attempted open a crate, can I get some feedback on how difficult the (1% chance) Exceptional prize is in number from lowest-to-average-to-most number of tries. I realize the number will vary greatly but I have no idea what the numbers may be.

I have a question about the "sale" prices. I have never, and never will, paid for chairs with gems, never! Yet I apparently bought 20 of those blue monster chairs in the past for coins. However they're on "sale" now for 1 gem.

How is that a sale or bargain?

I really hope someone can clear that up, maybe there's something I've overlooked?

I looked and when the Monster Chair was first introduced in 2012 it was a 1 gem item and in every Halloween Sale it's maintained that price. That's all the information I can offer, as to how many you own or when you purchased them I'm afraid no one but you could know.

It's not just those chairs, no way would I have spent gems on wallpaper, tiles and I have many that could not ever have been for gems when I bought them. I'm just suggesting that people not be gullible regarding these "sales".

But thank you, annirasweets for your input and also for your most excellent guides.

It is by definition impossible to predict. Chances reset with every buy, you will always have a 1% chance of winning it. Some people get the exact same 4th place prize 5 or more times in a row. Some get the 1st place prize on their first try. (I myself have 13 lemonade stands from the carnival box--and I was only aiming for a 2nd place--and also a 1st place from one of the halloween boxes that I bought by accident.) So I guess technically the lowest number of tries is one, and the greatest number is infinity, but there's no average.

I don't think it is gullibility. I believe you that at some point some of the chairs, wallpapers, tiles, etc that are currently offered for gems were sold for coins, but that point was long ago, not now. If a person really wants blue monster chairs but reads your post and thinks "well, I'll wait and see if they go back to coin pricing"...well, I don't think they'll be happy at the end of this sale. Players who have been around a long time also remember half price extra appliance slots, and those don't seem to be coming back either, although I wish they would!

I agree. As always, it's up to each player to decide what is and isn't worth their gems and that comes down to personal preference and opinion.

However, all of the gem items on sale (excluding the 1 gem items) are indeed half off of their original release price which is a pretty good deal. I know I didn't purchase certain items during their original releases years ago because I thought the prices were too steep but I bought them during this sale due to the half off pricing with no qualms.

Most of the Halloween items currently on sale have long been removed from the market so we're getting the opportunity to purchase items that are unavailable outside of this sale. That alone is an incentive for most to buy and so long as a player enjoys their purchased items there's no reason to feel *****ed or duped by the prices at all.
