Leader Board Gift Gone?

I came in second and one of the things I was rewarded was a gift box or prize box. It showed to me in a popup and I clicked it and it looked as if it wanted me to place it on the game. But no matter where I tried to place it, nothing happened. So I closed it, and went to look for it in my inventory and it isn't there. Not sure what is going on.

The prize chest auto opens & you should've seen a pop up for coins (I got 100,000) & a gold banner. I know it's not really a very special prize but that's what S8 gave us.
