Also, if you disenchant your extra Spellspines during the event you get 8 bonus Essences; which means they disenchant as Rares instead of Commons for the event.
Well, my third try was 14 hours instead of 15. Making progress, I guess.

Has anyone figured out which quest is the most efficient: 3, 8 or 12 hours?
work on crafting arcane gems, but dont use them for a dragon. If you can, save them to craft the dragon in the next arcane event and get it sooner. Try to breed a second spellspine instead, so you can have one to go on quests with while you raise the other. Older dragons fetch more from the arcane quests.
Actually you get the normal 2 Essence for trading a Common then the bonus 8 during the event which means you get 10 total. Sorry I wasn't very clear in that first post. In the Codex it reads something like: "Disenchant for 2 (+8 Bonus!) Essences" which is a much better deal than last time when they only offered two extra.
I haven't gone so far as to work out anything but I did keep track of results from a few players. I'll find them and put the numbers up for you as soon as I get to my PC. Of course ours is a limited sampling, but in general the numbers are much lower than what we got from the last event Quest.
