Try force closing and reopening your game to see if this resolves the issue.

Sorry to hear about this. What S8 have previously posted about this is that you touch the smoke area on cleared land where cleared and uncleared land meet it will allow you to get to the beast to defeat. Make sure you've zoomed in as far as you can.
