I've noticed a trend that when it's a mini tourney with a repeat dragon, we don't receive the monthly dragon materials. Of course, this is verified as nothing in the game seems to be but that is what I've observed over the last few months.

Regular Arena battles don't give tiaras, im feeling that this "quick" tournaments are a way to make the Tales event easier by level down the dragons for the last 4 battles , the last quick tournament was also in the final days of tales .
