Mostly speculation. I have only very litle buildings at level 8, so hard to tell if any timer or drop has changed. Puffy has a larger L8 estate as well as a few others, hopping they can post more details.

Too rich for my blood, with the cost of expansions and mermaid items....and given the quality of "improvements", upgrading is kind of wasteful IMO.

Yes, but those and my windmill are at a lowly level 7 so can't yet give the level 9 requirements.
