Purple is weak against Pink and Yellow is weak against Purple. This is why Music lost against Charisma. The best colors to use against pink are black, fairytale or gemstone and for purple the colors to use would be green or pink.
Dragons that would be good choices:
Mask, Flamingo, Troll, Hunter, Onyx, Tiger's Eye, any Fairytale dragons, Flower, Balloon, Illusion, Night, Lotus, Kitsune, Virtue, Black Swan or Gemstone.

So I was always a bit confused about the chances of winning (landing a crit)...if that was through 3 attacks or per attack etc... decided to read the mechanics a bit more closely and here is what I learned..

With every attack, the game rolls a random number between 1 and 1000. You also have a number between 1 and 1000 for every attack which is determined by the Crit bonus percent (this is whats affected by typing, rarity, level). If the game generated number is less or equal to your number, you land a crit. So for example...my level 15 diamond against a level 20 champ. The crit bonus (or what people referred to as chance of winning is 25%). Your number is determined by

1000*(1-(1-(crit bonus)^(1/3))) so its

1000*(1-0.75^(1/3)) = 91 (rounded down)

So with each attack, you only have a 9.1% chance of getting a crit. With three attacks, the chance is then 25% (a bit less due to the rounding down at each attack).

Some more numbers for reference:

My level 1 fire against your level 20 champ: (crit bonus 10%)

Chance of crit with each attack: 3.4%
If the chance of getting a diamond dragon is indeed 1%, then this is pretty much the chance you will get a diamond dragon with 3 breeding attempts.

My level 15 ultra mega champ against your level 1 fire: (crit bonus 90%)

Chance of crit with each attack: 53.5%
This was a bit surprising actually but the math works out. Basically its about 3 coin tosses and you need to get heads on at least one of them.

I’ve had 3 losses in a row now because one of my hits is reversed and so I’m getting 2 tries per dragon and my opponent is getting all 3.
I’ve sped up using gold and I’m losing that as well. I’m not going to do this tournament if it’s not going to allow me to use my 3 hits.

Am I really the only one with ocd who is bothered by the newer types having different sizes than the older types? Lol. The ghost and gift types bothered me being smaller and this new world type just wow. It's literally like half the size. Shouldn't the types all be the same size like they always been? Oh and really like this new dragon just not the type sizing

No, i find this issue disturbing, like "hey you! take a image from internet for the new type"

I remember this same thing happening often but it was fixed my S8. If I were you I'd submit a support report here in the website right away. Be sure to include your phone/tablet type and operating system (eg iPhone 6+ iOS) or another example Samsung Galaxy android latest rev
Also tell them (I'm curious also) Was it working before the tournament? did you recently update Dragon Story (do you have auto-update on for apps at the App Store or google Play? ( I saw DS has another update out)
Anyway to get a snapshot pic of it?
I think 2 tourneys ago a player posted snapshot of his battle always starting out with a hit taken (as if he already used Magic but only a 1/4 of the line across showed)
