No. The Main Goal is the Main goal and can be completed on its own without doing the side goal.
The Side Goal...it doesn't open until you've completed some of the Main Goal, but once it opens, it's yours to complete (or not) as you see fit. It's usually 3-4 steps of cooking lots of food for one prize at the end. Once in while, they give a prize after each step, but not usually. Again, the side goal has no effect on Main Goal completion.
I'm completely obsessed with blue and silver. That said, I actually really like all this pink stuff. I've surprised myself LOL
I love both new appliances and all the recipes. I don't mind recolors. If I like something in real life I buy it in different colors. It will work here too.
Almost done this goal and side goal, found this really easy and flowed well. I will finish this in the next couple of days. Already had the shimmery party goers but still completed the side goal so I have 2, they look great in my bakery!
I also liked the goal items, I jumped the *** and started decorating for Valentines day with all this pink!
Not accepting any new neighbors at the moment
I'm not a fan & didn't participate in this particular goal because I just found it generally tacky. Not a fan of baby pink at all. I'd like to see something more tasteful.

Question about side goal
We are to make 15 love potion and it says skip for 15gems
I saw it,and then I served 3 and it dropped to 13 gems.
Then something weird happened.
After I served 7, it became 88 gems to skip
Is this a glitch
I think it's less a glitch and more a text/space issue. Generally, the number of gems it takes to skip a task = (the number of gems to finish cooking a recipe from its start) x (the number of recipes you need to cook).
So, very likely, it cost 150+ gems to skip the goal step when you needed to cook 15 Love Potions, and 130+ gems when you needed to cook 12. The button probably only displayed the first two digits of the required number of gems needed to skip the step.

I was wondering how can it be only 15 gems
but the space limit made it so misleading
This was a good goal, I liked it. It does seem odd that the longer-cook recipes have fewer servings, though. Should be the other way around.
