According to the info provided by S8 about the final community prize, the Soup Cauldron, drops food items. Whether this is during the event or after the event. Who knows. If it stops dropping the food when the event is over (similar to the birthday event buildings) that will be frustrating. But we don?t know yet

Devs, can you please let us know more specifics about the drops of the soup caldron?

So the adventure only returned me 1 onion, 1 acorn and 1 jar. I won?t be going on another one. What a waste of a gold nugget. I don?t have many of those.

My adventure gave me garlic , eggs, sap and beans. No spice. But I can certainly use all of these, get beans save a Skunkupine!
Gold is not an issue with me, so I'll try a couple more.

If you go to the ? In the community event icon it also says the soup cauldron has a chance ( emphasis on the word chance ) to
drop food items. But yes, it is not clear if this continues after the event. I would expect it would but will wait and see.
