I completely agree with you random59. I also did the math, and if I'm correct, each story quest costs approximately $100.00 cash to buy all the food you need. Between not having enough space, having to buy your island if you want your dragons together, & the amount of food, it's just not worth it anymore.

I get by Light and Island. I think use Light Dragon with Blue+Green dragon have high chance to get it.
At lease it will get 8 hours ...

Attempt 7 Light and Island gives me 20 hour breed....not happy!!

I don't know if it was the extra green that made the difference, but worth a try it worked on both my accounts
Phew, finished chapter 7 and I only need one Stargazing quest done to craft the last Star Figment needed for Crash Site. Whiplash is already level 6 and Lonestar level 14, Stargazer still needs a few hours to craft. Now only the horrors of battle arena left.
Does anyone have the ingredients for the Star Fragment handy? My Craft Shop is occupied at the moment so I can't check for myself. Thanks
