I used to think vegetarians were crazy (and to share my opinion with the world) until I became a vegetarian myself.
It happened when I did a one month meditation course in which only vegetarian food was available and after that I couldn't eat meat anymore, I got sick the first few times I tried. From ravenous omnivore to spiritual herbivore :-)
My roommate is vegetarian and in March she'll go full out vegan as a part of a challenge.
I am, and will never be, vegetarian. But I'm very strict with the meat I eat. I don't eat chicken at all. I only eat Swedish meat and looks down at the Swedes who buy Danish or Belgian meat. Almost all meat I eat comes from my family's farm so I know that the animal had a good life.
Real quick
I've always wanted to be a vegan. I went on an (unintended) vegetarian diet nearly 3 months ago, as I'd only ever consumed coffee with just a bit of cream in it and cheese with an occasional fruit in my food for about 3 weeks. Right now it's just water, no meat, no dairy. Nothing. I feel a sense of control in my life for once. And I love that feeling.
I'd like to add that none of this was intentional. It sorta just happened. I did intentionally try a vegan lifestyle 3 years ago however gave up after the first 2 or 3 days. I loved chicken and turkey too much then. I think unintentionally is the best way to go for me. With intent, it feels like a "chore" in a sense. It's a hard feeling to explain or convey properly.
The good news is that every time I stop eating any/all meat for a while, I do cut one meat out of my life entirely even when I resume eating (some) meat again. Initially, I stopped eating Pork, then beef and now this time around?
Anyway, I think I've received some mental clarity from this.
(I'd also like to add that I'm not encouraging this method. It's just what works "best" for me)

I'm returning back to say I haven't had dairy or meat (of any kind) since the 7th September.
I did eat some chicken and a bit a salmon on 7th of September (after I initially posted on the 27) and had this very gross and guilt feeling not long after eating it. It lasted all day and into the next day as well. Haven't had/ate anything else like that since.
I'm taking it a lot more seriously this year than I ever have in my entire life, and part of it is due to what I seen at my local state fair last year. Whilst it didn't immediately turn me a vegan, it made me think more about the effects of dairy and meat consumption. Longer and harder than I ever thought before.
I notice I'm less depressed, have more energy, and overall more empathetic towards others, especially animals like cows, pigs, chickens.
What's weird is that I'm constantly craving tomatoes though... every time I go to the grocery store I always get them. It's a must have for me personally. I recently ate a whole container full of tomatoes within a few hours and still wanted more tomatoes immediately after.
If any of you are craving some corn dogs, these are so delicious! They're plant based and vegan.
I was craving some a few weeks ago and got the mini version (the best one) and loved it.
I also bought the morningstar brand (bigger size, comes in a pack of 4) however I much preferred the mini Field Roast brand of the corn dogs. Both are still very good though!
The Field Roast version might genuinely be the best corn dog I've ever eaten in my life. It's that good. And I can eat them with no guilt or shame too. So what's not to love about them?
I?ve been eating a lot of tofu lately! It?s so much tastier and better than chicken, for obvious reasons. And it's especially delicious paired with the right sauces and spices! My partner isn't a vegan, but loves what I cook up! I was thankfully a good chef before this, so it?s no surprise that I?m just as good if not better at making vegan food. I follow a lot of vegan influencers and activists now too, which also helps in getting vegan recipes.
Anyway, it will be 6 months soon since I?ve started living the vegan lifestyle fully. I?m very thankful that I've found some peace and solace in veganism.
There have been a few other brands that I?ve tried since the post above, but I've always preferred to make my own rather than eat factory-made and processed food. That and I prefer eating vegetables, peanuts, and soy anyway. Occasionally fruit too, though I find it too sweet most of the time now. So I mainly only eat Pineapple and Cranberries these days.
I don't have any tips and tricks, as I naturally gravitated towards veganism and found it very helpful in my life once I adapted to it. It hasn't been hard for me to maintain it either, as again, it was a natural process in response to what I was dealing with in my life. I'm so glad and proud to be a vegan!![]()

I wanted some celery, carrots, and tomatoes the other day so bad, and I found some vegan ranch to use with it as well.
It's really good! I didn't really like ranch before I went vegan, so this is actually a shock for me.
My initial tomato craving went away, but it's unfortunately returned once againBecause even in my choice of drink these days, I have to have tomatoes in it.
I've been relying on this one mixer a lot lately. Almost have it gone and I just got it not too long ago. Very delicious and I love using it.
I rarely consume the meat due to personal issues, so it's vegetables, soy and peanuts most of the time. Vegan meat isn't bad at all, though I have a hard time with that too these days. I do occasionally get the craving for meat, and I do get the vegan versions, though that's very rare and I'm so thankful for that.
I got these once during said craving and they were great.
Vegan chicken is the best type of vegan meat out there IMO.
Call me a vegan the way my farm is plant-based
