Thread: Whats up with all the broken hearts!!?!!

    Question Whats up with all the broken hearts!!?!!

    Seriously i'm a "story" fanatic after about only a month of playing various series and editions! but the only one i'm struggling with the most (which is prolly the easiest to get) is the fashion story... i'm at a full 100% but more than half my customers leave pissed off.... i never seem to earn any money! i think theres a glitch on my Asus android tablet... when i'm in the catalog screen my income stays dormant and never changes, but as soon as i close the catalog screen my coins jump up about 2 or 3 thousand, and then immediately drop back down lower than before, like to 439 coins! and no i've not purchased anything while inside the catalog.... ive tested this out several times and everytime its the same... ive also moved my counters, mirrors and dressing booths ALL OVER, and nothing makes a bit of difference, the customers are leaving angry and i'm not selling a darn thing! yet it still says im at 100% is this normal or WTF should i do? i've overstocked all my racks as i do in all my story games, but theyre selling extremely slow.... like one out of five customers buys a product! thanks you guys! check my store, ID ~ MixedDesires

    Im having exactly the same problems. Also when I initially open the game it has stated I've received over $1000 while I was gone but then my balance is under $800. Also I have noticed that the customers coming out of the dressing room are unhappy 9 out of 10 times. Nothing it's blocking the register path. I can't figure out what the problem is.
    I enjoy this game but I can't make any real progress. I'm very close to just deleting it.

    Red face Change layout for happy hearts

    I had the same issue with lots of broken hearts coming out of dressing rooms and from mirrors. Then I changed the layout, put all the dressing rooms across from racks and mirrors next to tables, almost every table has it's own mirror. left walking room between almost everything. Now there are no broken hearts!

    Make sure you don't have a mirror or dressing room across from a register, they need to walk at least one square to the register after deciding to buy something or they leave unhappy.

    Can someone check my layout and see what may be causing all these broken hearts? They're driving me insane!

    EDIT: I had three registers. I took away one, and I have not had a broken heart since. So weird.

    In my humble opinion, the Fashion Story 'trick' is to ensure that;
    - all racks, counters, cash registers, and doors are accessible (not blocked).
    - there is an adequate number of racks versus changing rooms/booths ratio,
    - there is an adequate number of counters versus mirrors ratio,
    - there is an adequate number of buyers versus cash registers ratio.
    I do not yet know what the 'ideal' numbers for these ratios are.
    And there are adequate distances (number of squares) between each entrance/exit, rack/counter, changing room/mirror, and cash register(s).

    Given that products can be divided into two classes;
    - hanging rack products (gowns, dresses, shirts, shorts, etc), and
    - counter products (boots, shoes, necklaces, bracelets, bags, hats, etc),
    then the purchase process appears to be;
    - buyer enters via door and visits one or more products, and
    - if product is a rack product - buyer then visits changing room/booth, or,
    - if product is a counter product - buyer then visits a mirror,
    then buyer shows 'pink heart' - will buy product,
    then buyer visits a cash register,
    then buyer shows 'bag in hand',
    then buyer exits via door,
    and sale is credited to running sales/coins total.
    OR something very similar.

    Finally,
    I believe there is a minimum 'path length/congestion' store layout, such that each buyer has to be able to move across/through at least one 'square' between one activity and the next activity - three squares in total.
    For example;
    Buyer enters through a door and stands on one square, then moves through/across at least one other square, and stands on a third square to examine a product.
    Buyer stands on one square to examine a product and decides to buy, then moves through/across at least one other square, to occupy a third square inside a changing room/booth or in front of a mirror.
    Buyer leaves changing room/booth/mirror square, then moves through/across at least one other square, to occupy a third square by a cash register.

    For a 100% 'pink hearts', the number of buyers visiting, buying, and leaving the store per min/hour does not seem to vary regardless of the number of doors or store layout as such.
    If a purple 'I'm angry - broken heart' or green 'I need something - broken heart' occurs, then check and modify the above accessibility & product/store facilities/layouts.

    I hope this helps.

    I play fashion story on the iPhone and the Kindle. On the Kindle I have so many broken hearts it is crazy. I added more dressing rooms and mirrors. That did not help.
    The young ladies actually come out of the dressing rooms and a broken heart appears. They stand in front of a mirror and then the broken heart appears. Come on you really need to fix this.
    Thanks
