Dragon Tales 1/7/25: Steampunk Situation & Battle Tourney 1/7/25: Bellows Dragon

    Greetings Fellow Caretakers,

Welcome to the new Dragon Tales event for the year 2025!!!

With that, here are the simplified directions to complete the first January event, called Steampunk Situation. Not only are the chapters and acts listed, I also put in the supplies needed and how many times the Smokewind Dragon has to be sent on missions. I hope it helps all of you to get the Airship Dragon. With no further ado, here's the chapters and I divided them up by levels.

By the way S8, thank you for finally having a sale on gold producing dragons after we've begged for years to have one. It was definitely appreciated and I bought 3. I wish we had sales on the first released gold producing dragons like Stainglass, etc., but the late December sale was nothing short of awesome. How about putting 2-4 GPDs on sale every 3 months or so? That would be so cool.

Note: You can level up the Smokewind, Aero and Rivet Dragons to their required levels early and they will count. For most players Smokewind needs to be at level 14, Aero to level 12 and Rivet to level 6.

***If you are below level 80, then look at your level listing to see required levels for your dragons.***

Note: You can breed Rivet Dragon early (breed black and green) and it will count when asked in Chapter 6.

Note: Surprise, surprise. I bred the Rivet Dragon on the first try. Parents were Dark Angel (diamond, black) and Greenstone (green).

Below is a picture of the Rivet egg:

Note: For anyone who has difficulty breeding the common dragon for Dragon Tales events, you can skip the acts where that dragon is required for a total of 112 Gold.

Note: The requirement for Chapter 6 involving hatching the common dragon requires breeding the elements to get the dragon and then hatching it. The egg will NOT be in your storage. What I mean is, for example, in this Dragon Tales, it says hatch a Rivet Dragon. In order to do that, you have to breed dragons (one that has a black element with one that has a green element).

Note: You must have the Noble Crystal placed on your island in order to level your dragons past level 10. This is needed to participate in the Dragon Tales event. It's available in the market for 1000 coins.

Note: Cogwheels are the material collected to craft the ultra rare January dragon, Airship (metal, world, blue). 25,000 Cogwheels are needed to craft Airship. This Dragon Tales event will provide 4,810 of them to Caretakers level 32 or higher.

Note: The Bellows Tournament will provide 1521 Cogwheels if completed.

Note: Take a look at your Dragon Tales directions split by level.

Champions are very tricky. The go to dragons for most players are as follows, The ADDMIP Dragons of Achilles, Diamond, Dark, Metal, Infinity and Passion. Different dragons work on champions on different islands so don't think you're just limited to the ADDMIP dragons when facing a champion type.

    For the duration the tournaments:
If the tournament starts on a Friday and it's a normal 30 round tourney, it ends Wednesday at 11:59pm Pacific Standard/Daylight Time
If the tournament starts on a Tuesday and it's a normal 30 round tourney, it ends Sunday at 11:59pm Pacific Standard/Daylight Time

Flash tournaments (24 rounds) usually last 4 days.

Thank you, as always! You almost singlehandedly keep the DS forum going, and I try to keep FFS going, but the lack of engagement by both fellow players and.....others.... is disheartening. I'm glad you decided to come back.

All I'm getting in my quest for a Rivet dragon is long fails. Black and green is a difficult combo.

How do you like the new metal dragons and habitats?
Disagreements are a normal part of the human experience and can be handled respectfully. Don't think I don't see.

Thank you for the support, Summerswan51! It's really sad how much the engagement went down in these forums. I do see that quite a few come into the forums but most come to just read. Some may be afraid to comment and engage, but that's okay. The ones who engaged the most either left in frustration with the decisions of Dragon Story and Fantasy Forest and some may have been blocked. I know, for DS, the problem has been getting locked out of the game and the game not progressing the way it should. I still have a little bit of hope these issues are truly addressed in 2025. Being locked out for 5+ years is ridiculous.
For the metal theme for January, I like it a lot - especially the monthly arena dragon, Navigator and the monthly prize dragon, Airship. Navigator is downright awesome and Airship is beautiful for a redesign of Hot-Air. I like Airship way more than Hot-Air. I gotta give them big props for Smokewind too. The only gripe I have is too many metal type dragons are given red and yellow elements. I think of the 30 metal types that have been released, more than 60% have red and/or yellow in them. Hopefully they'll do some more creative color combos and lower the incubation times on these common dragons and dragons that act like commons. The last few events asked for commons that were almost impossible to breed. If S8 developers are reading this, white+yellow, black+green and black+blue are resulting in really long failures. Sunrise needs to be lowered or eliminated altogether.

Never fails I get stuck on chapter 6 and get no further. How does one breed and hatch a common 'any' dragon. I never seem to be able. Frustrating ! I refuse to spend gems as I seem to never earn any. I just can't afford to spend the money to complete impossible for me goals. Then there's the battles. I don't know how a lvl3 dragon can beat a lvl15. Seems bonkers to me. Wonder why I started playing again.....

Maybe you're starting to try to breed the "common" dragon at chapter 6 instead of starting the breeding from the start of Dragon Tales.
