Castle Story 8/1: Hot Off the Presses | event info on page 1

Hmm, this seems likely to be another of those events that require endless, repetitive chopping. I'll wait a bit more before deciding whether to go for it or sit this one out.
Trade tickets are always welcome, of course, but I already have a few sources and think I might prefer to work on my main storyline goals I haven't competed yet.

Looks like the crab apple tree is the way to go???

I can’t upgrade newsstand. Do you have to get to a certain point or is this a glitch?

Are you on a goal to upgrade? Usually you have to be on the goal.
If so, force quit & reopen the game to see if its available.

White birch, red acre, and willows (in addition to elm trees) are giving Ivy's recipe books

Gem confirmation notice PLEASE!
Was trying to figure out how to collect these newspaper thingys and accidentally clicked something to buy some. Cost a small fortune in gems I guess cause I don't have many left. Can anyone read the Hot Off the Presses box and tell me how many gems I just lost? Considering quitting after years of this game. Too much gem lost uselessly.

Same here..... I have 10 reliable trade-ticket droppers that I can collect from 2-3 times a day, and probably as many random sources as well. The only difference for me is I have no story line left to work on as I've finished everything except expansions. Maybe I'll work on those, I've crafted about 22 Explorers permits and I'm waiting because the game is so buggy and resets constantly when taking out RP buildings that it is a big travaille each time, so I like to expand a lot of plots to make it worth the effort.

Oh wow, ten! I have 4 guaranteed droppers and 3 or 4 random ones. But then, expansions aren't a high priority for me yet, because I'm busy enough with other stuff. 😊

I think it's fascinating what different stages of the game look like for the different players!

Anyway, I'll read along here for a little while longer and then make my decision. It's so great to be able to read up on what lies ahead here! Thanks to everyone who's contributing!
