I have no luck. Countless fails and I got 32hrs breeding Gold and Forest. What is that? Anyone?

Finally got it with cameleon (bingo task) and mist dragon (tales task) after a few tries with green/yellow/rainbow dragons. So lucky !
I was wondering, some of you use diamond type dragon to breed the required dragon, why ? Does it reduce the number of possible fails ?
These dragons should cost, at most, 50 gold from the market when they?re required to complete a tales.
This is going to be my 3rd Dragon tales (in a row) that I did not get the common Dragon.
I don't get it.!!! I have been getting Nymp 4 of them. Also, 9 X 4hr possibility. (Come on!!!)
