Why does my game crash on my iPad but not on my iPhone?
They both have the same iOS (12.3.1). The only time the game doesn't crash on my iPad is during mining only.

Why is this?
When the screen is bigger, more animations are in view which requires more resources from the device. For an older device, that can be a lot to handle and graphic intensive apps can encounter out of memory apps. On smaller screens, a lot of animation is paused so the performance is improved. The screen size to performance relationship would behave this way for any machine.
There are a number of performance improvements designed to help those devices: particle effects after level 120 reduce from 11 to 3, memory catch and release, and animations pause when they are not in view of the screen.
