gem purchase and crafting bug

I'm somewhat upset. I purchased some gems to get the cupid faerie and the cupid harp so that I could do the 3 crafts in the sweetheart shack for the birds, fygar and sweetheart unicorn. I just completed the second craft and the crafting options disappeared; got the birds and tiger but NO unicorn? I Also purchased the unicorn for gems; and as I understand it the cap is raised to 4. I want the opportunity to craft my second unicorn, or return the fairy, birds, tiger, and harp, and get my gems back. I would just have purchased two unicorns if I had known that.
