* The following are recommended to help choose the ideal fighter based on tested strengths/weaknesses, as well as highest rarity. The theory behind choosing an ideal fighter is that an animal of higher rarity may have better odds of landing a 'Critical' against an opponent when using an attack that normally registers a 'Strong' hit. It is also theorized that a high-level fighter may have better odds. It's not a guarantee to win with one of these fighters, but it may increase your odds. Note that ANY animal of ANY level or rarity has a chance of landing a winning 'Critical' using ANY element (even 'Weak' ones).

Well, this is starting off well... Not! Decided to start with the basics, but apparently that's not working this time around.

Well, now level 1 Firefox won my level 15 Aperil Fool. Hmm... I'm starting to think the game knows how low I am on gems and is trying to make me buy more. So, I'm not gonna use any gems for this tournament. :)

Round 26: got this far without too much trouble but Treasure Toucan is my old nemesis, that has held me up for days in the past, so we'll see whether I get past this round.

Note on round 22:
So far I hadn't used my Gold Lion which doesn't feel "right" in a tournament (as it used to be my ever-trusty number 1 performer) so I decided to use it against the Bastet in round 22. Unfortunately it didn't win. My next try was the Snapdragon, which also often works well as a "trump card" animal. This time it worked again and it secured a quick victory. I love this animal!

Note on round 23:
I'm not sure which opponent ought to be the better choice for battling the Peryton; on the one hand I have the ultra rare Golden Retriever (strong against gem) and on the other hand I have the super rare Pluma (electric is strong against water and dark is strong against gem). I alternated between them. The Retriever had two losses, the Pluma had one loss and then won.

Note on round 28:
The Retriever was in trouble against Ruby. Time for a "Plan B". I got my previous main "gem-****er", good 'ole Mr. Treent, out of retirement and gave that a try. Wow! It's back with a vengeance! It instantly took out the dreaded Razorback! :)

Well then... with all of the ultra rares out of the way, the door to victory is wide open. Two more rounds to go! I hope it will be smooth sailing on both of them. :P

This was a pretty smooth tournament with 19 losses vs. 30 wins, and without having spent gems. The tournament was won with some 3 days to spare. :)
The new animals held up pretty well too; the Swan Prince and Anubis did what was required of them, and so did several of my trusty old fighters. I was a bit sad to have only given one chance to the Gold Lion (my previous #1 fighter) and that it lost that round. In next tournaments I'll see if I can deploy that one a bit more too! Well, let's just say that he got to enjoy some R&R after having well earned its ******s in earlier tournaments. :P

After a great start and then another decent run we hit round 26. A chance to see how Egypt fairs against Treasure. Not so well so far but it is a level 19 so I can't expect too much but 4 losses, now 5, 6, and 7 on one round is a lot. That makes more than half my losses in the tournament on this one round.

Well Day 3 is starting off as poorly as Day 2 ended. Swan Princess inaugural battle fails. Patriotter fills in for the princess and takes down the Melodeer. First win for day 3.

Encountered a Level 20 animal at round 28 so I assume we will see three level 20 animals. I don't like this new opponent mapping at all.

It seems as if this is another tournament where the Ultra-rares get their revenge against my troops. I usually have pretty good luck against them but they have already beat me 20 times in this tournament. Round 28 is now officially my worst round ever with 16 losses (previous worst 12 losses). My overall record has been reduced a losing record. This is not fun.

After a disastrous day 3 of the tournament, Day 4 has started the same way a loss by the Treent of Life to the Ruby Razorback. Then it was the Patriotter's turn to lose and then the Sea Drake. Back to Anubis and another lossThis is ridiculous. Well after 22 losses the Treent of Life finally beat the Ruby Razorback.

I was hoping that after the round 28 disaster, that I could get by round 29 on the first try. No Such luck, Harpy goes down on the first attempt. But it wins on the second attempt. So I have twice as many wins on day 4 already as Day 3, 2 wins.

Round 30. Finally made it. First attempt another loss. Have about 3 days to defeat the last animal;, I think I can do it. I took 3 battles but the Treent took down the Dusk Bunny and I finished with my worst record ever.

I had quite a good run until I hit round 20. After that the losses were consistent :(

My new Obsidian Cyclops did well fighting its first battle against the round 25 terradactyl. I took a risk as it's still level 9 but he done well :)

It doesn't look like I'll be finishing :( with 6 losses into day 6 with 16 hours and 5 rounds left :(

17 losses to the Treasure Toucan, the most stubborn opponent I've ever faced. I paid 8 gems to speed the timer twice, and the Hydro Yak that I abandoned ages ago finally took him down! Looks like Hydro will be my new Sloth! Funny how I only beat the round once I've paid gems :rolleyes:

Three rounds left with 6 hours to go... All opponents level 20s... This isn't looking good. The Ruby Razorback ALONE could take up the last 6 tries :(
