I was just repeatedly told by Restaurant Story that it was having trouble accessing the Internet. I could not get to my food that was about to spoil because of it. Funny, but using the same iPad I was able to get online to leave this message!

Most likely a mistake towards their servers.
If you are still having problems, make sure you restart your device. Also you can delete the game and redown it from the app store.
Also try closing down all other applications you are not using.
