Good luck to us all, we have eight days to try for this before we need to panic. And remember, if you're planning on spending gold on speed-breeding, don't spend more than 88 gold because if you can't get it, you can still skip the acts involving this dragon for a total of 112 gold. In all, you'd only spend 200 gold, same as if you bought the dragon from the store. As for the dragon itself, you can be sure that it'll turn up when you least want it in some other event.

Surprising, this only took two tries with Magic and Air; the first try with Neo Purple and Neo Air produced a Viola. Thank God for that cause I didn't need to activate any boosts. But I did spend 4 gold to speed up the breeding :tickled_pink:

Thanks for the stupidly fast post, Pixel! I really didn't want to make the mistake that I have been making for the last several times, where I've been breeding the incorrect dragon at the *top* of the storefront right when the event launched -__-;;

First attempt: Genie + Air = 8hrs
Second attempt: Magic +Neo Air = 18hrs
Third attempt: Magic + Neo Air = 6hrs
Fourth attempt: Magic + Neo Air = 4hrs
Fifth attempt: Magic + Air = 18hrs
Sixth attempt: Magic + Neo Air = 8hrs
Seventh attempt: Peacock + Air = 4hrs Finally got it!!! .V.

It took about 7-8 tries before I finally got it. Thanks to my boosts once again, it only cost me about 15 gold. The proud parents were Neo Air and Peacock..

Omg...NO WAY! I started breeding for this even before I saw this post and guessed correctly! Got it 1st try breeding Saturn and peacock! That?s a first for me! I?ve NEVER EVER EVER gotten an event dragon first try!!!!

The ultra rare Common has eluded me for months in both storybook and leaderboard events. So frustrated haven’t even tried to breed it in last 3 events. Can’t believe I’m back in there trying - slow week.

Peacock and Neo Air first try

Saturn and Genie first try. 8 hr with Peacock and Air in second den.


My bad, it was Pyxis. Didn't look close enough at the egg :p I did get it with Cosmic and Peacock on the next try.

Got 4 hours with Peacock and Saturn and four hours with Eclipse and Magic ��

I just got my second one breeding Cosmic with Magic, so that combination is definitely working :D

Got it first try with Candy Hoard and Neo Yellow.

Trust me I feel your pain. Last dragon tales I bred the entire time and could NOT GET STUPID DELPHINIUM DRAgon! I ended up having to buy it and I was so mad at it I actually named it “Ihateyou” for like 3 weeks...yup. I was very angry at having to buy it. It has a nicer name now. Lol. Try Saturn x peacock I got it 1st try with that combo! Also thanks @deadpixel it usually never happens for me!

1st fail - saturn & peacock 8hrs
2nd fail - neo Air & magic 8hrs
Sigh. Can't breed this cursed required dragons for the last few events. Thank God managed to craft 1 for the leader board.

1x cosmic, 4 x royals, 1 x genie, 2 x tricksters and finally its on the nest phew glad its done ✅

Doesn?t look like I am getting this ultra rare common again, getting sick of it every event, I don’t think I will bother with tales they suck.

i got a fail w/ air + magic. but that has 9 possibilities with 4 of them being 4 commons & 2 are 4 hour breed times.
so i tried cosmic + magic and it only has 4 possibilities= 2 commons (4 hour orion, 8 hour genie) & 2 rares. got it first try.

Universe x Peacock = Music
Cosmic x Sorceress = Genie
Cosmic x Magic = Genie
Cosmic x Peacock = Trickster
Cosmic x Peacock = ORION!

Neo purple + neo yellow second try!

I just wanted to say how beautiful Orion dragon is at epic form I absolutely love it. It actually suits the theme unlike the other dragons except for Reticulum. Farsight and Cygnus don’t even look anything remotely close to space themed at all. I really like Cygnus but she absolutely doesn’t suit the space theme even a smidge. Swans on her head and space don‘t really mix but she is still very pretty and I do wanna get her but she doesn‘t suit the theme at all I wouldn‘t be surprised if these dragons were done awhile ago for other stuff and then suddenly used now to fill in the spots they didn‘t have enough dragons for ‘cause they don‘t look space themed at all. Did I mention they don‘t suit the theme? lol!

Several players, including myself, have successfully bred this dragon using cosmic and purple. So if you are having trouble breeding this with purple and yellow, do consider trying for it with that alternate combination; there is a slightly higher chance of getting the Orion Dragon too :)

If I could ask a question.... when's the last time you COULDN'T breed the required "common" dragon? Because I'm up to one time in the last 8 months I could breed it.

So, my first account got a Peacock dragon at a relatively low level - like it was in the 30s or something. Well, my now 2 year old, level 156 account just got its first ever Peacock while trying for this Orion dragon. :) Now I can finally do the bingo task of "breed with a Peacock dragon." Lol! Now if I could just get the darn Orion dragon, I'd be good!


In reply to Fyym re: not getting the common dragon. TBH, I almost always get it eventually on my 2 older accounts, although I didn't get whatever the common was during the Royal type storybook/dragon tale on my second account, and I did not purchase it, either, and now that account feels weird for not having the Nightfire dragon because she turned out to be a very good fighter on my other accounts.

So far this time around, only my brand new account has the Orion dragon. My other 2 accounts are still trying. When we needed to breed a Delphinium dragon, my older 2 accounts got it, but my baby didn't, so I bought it on there, but, going forward, I do not plan to spend gold to buy common dragons. As long as I can complete the event and get all the event dragons on one of my three accounts, that is good enough. I guess it's true what they say about not putting all your eggs in one basket, but, at the same time, I totally understand why people would not want to make multiple accounts.

The Tales event just before this one (so about 2-3 weeks ago). I could not breed the common dragon despite trying on 2 dens for several days. I got so far behind in tasks that I had to SPEND GOLD to buy the bleeping Common dragon :mad: I've been playing this game since it started (6 years or so) and that's the first time I can think of that happening.

My last time was last November or so. About once a year I cannot breed the common but it was either last tales or the one before that I was on day 8 before I finally got it. That was stressful!

This time, day 1 first try with cosmic and peacock!

Within the last year I have had at least 4-5 that I couldn?t get. But I truly do believe it is random, as much as I would love to complain that it?s not fair or that it?s ?rigged?. I just got this Orion dragon without trying (breeding for bingo) with peacock and kite. Obviously you could get it with that combination but I wouldn?t suggest trying it again! So my theory is sometimes it just wants to give it to you (and sometimes multiple times in the same tournament) and others it?s just hiding it from us and no matter what we won?t get it until after (and then we will get more than we ever wanted)! Frustrating but random.

I was more interested in kookys answer. Always see posts of 2nd attempt or 3rd attempt. Meanwhile I'm going on 6th attempt just like every month of no common dragon for me. I'd love to see how she would react with "I'm on day 9 and attempt 20 with no dragon".

Yeah, I get it. There are certain people who *always* get it within the first 3 attempts. What is up with that?

I still don't have it on my 2 older accounts. Starting to worry (not panic, just worry). I try not to activate my second nest during Dragon Tales like I do for LB and WE, but I might end up doing that if I don't have it by the day we are due to hatch it. Then again, I have it on my baby account, so maybe that is good enough.

Anyone having difficulty breeding that ultra rare common Orion, try what deadpixel suggested and try breeding cosmic/Saturn/eclipse with magic/peacock/neo purple. I bred one on my first try with plain ole Cosmic and Magic. Also, if you want to take a walk on the wild side and have Cosmic Nova or Universe, try breeding one of them with a Diamond or Infinity. There's a marginally better chance of Orion showing up than with purple and yellow. Plus you have the extra bonus of possibly getting Quasar, Anubis or Gossamer.

Hay Sherlock. "If" here. I've run into a problem w/ the DT Act requiring I Breed w/ MIST. I've tried 7 times to Nreed (MIST & ACHILLES) - the dragone spend a brief time on Nest then disappear before a Breeding Time is posted. I'm able to accomplish other tasks (Farming, Battling, Coin Collecting...) so I have no idea.
I too have not Bred Orion. Is the DT in game Act telling you to use (pink & blue)?

Definitely happened in the game. When i got to the bit in chapter 6 asking for us to breed the orion it actually said breed pink and blue
I read it twice
I should have screen snapped it
It makes no sense

Same for me! It?s telling me to breed pink and blue. So strange!

It?s telling me to breed pink and blue as well. If this is the incorrect combination, then it sucks for all the people that don?t visit these types of boards?
