I just went up a level and it says I can get x building. When I try to buy it, it tells me I need to level up. Help
There is a limit to the number of each type of building you can have per level. If you really want the new building you can sell one of the existing types.
The types are Royal, Town, Resource, Crafting and Special. To see the different types of building go into the Market, click on Buildings then select the appropriate tab. This will show you all the buildings of that type.
Resource buildings are limited to 2 of each type. Special resource buildings like reindeer stables, kingdom inns etc may be limited to buying one if you did not build one duri g the limited time events.
Crafting buildings are also limited to 2 of each type with the exception of love shacks (no longer available) and tinker camps which are limited to 1.
-
A monster appeared and I cannot defeat it as it is blocking the building I need to craft the sword/cleaver etc
You have two options with this:
- Build another building that crafts the sword (if you can)
- Email support@teamlava.com with your ID, game and issue

Why are all my neighbours maxed on gifts and why don't I get many gifts?
The game is designed so that you can only send three gifts per day. If you try to send more than this the game will say that your neighbours are maxed.
You will also see a message that your neighbours are maxed if they are maxed on the item (for some items like earth wisps this message appears when they have 80 or more in their inventory). Try sending them a different gift or go to their wall and ask them to use some of the items so you can gift them.
With only three gifts/day they're pretty precious. Some people gift back in order, some people have agreements to only gift particular people in order. If you don't get too many gifts don't worry - most people are in the same boat. Treat any gift as a bonus.
-
What happens if I decline a gift?
If you decline a gift it doesn't go into your inventory, no message is sent to the sender, the sender cannot send another gift. You would only want to decline a gift if you regularly got 20 gifts a day (the max) and one of the items was something you didn't want. If you declined it and then someone send you another gift you would receive that gift.

What is needed for the "Of Telescopes and Tablets" quest?
Something that can be Polished to a Shine is Silver Ore.
Something that Focuses Light is Jewels
Something that Shimmers and Shines is Mermaid Scales
-
I already have the materials for the "Of Telescopes and Tablets" quest. Why aren't they recognised?
The quest asks you to find the items so it doesn't count the ones you have previously found.
-
I have a quest to harvest x crops. I've got them why aren't they recognised?
Quests like these are based on the number of times you harvest after receiving the quest. It doesn't count harvests you did before the quest. It also doesn't take into account if a harvest gives you two of the items (random bonus). Y

Why aren't my neighbours responding to my requests?
Each day you can only have 20 of your requests answered. By sending lots of requests you're clogging up the system and slowing down your requests.
Example - I send out 60 requests to neighbours on one day. 20 go out to different neighbours - some playing and some not playing. I get back maybe 13 requests. The next day the next 20 go out. I get back 6 from those giving me a total of 19. One the third day the last lot of 20 goes out and I get 7 back. So it's taken me 3 days to get 26 responses.
You'll find you get a faster response rate if you only send out 20-25 people who you know will respond daily.
-
I respond to requests from my neighbours daily. Why do I suddenly have a request that is 4 days old?
Your neighbours have sent out more than 20 requests. Only 20 can get answered in a day. If you've got one that's 4 days old they've sent the request to at least 80 neighbours. See the post above for more info.

Why is my energy cap different to my neigbours?
The first thing that impacts your energy cap is the level you are on. Each level increases your energy by 1 until you hit the maximum. The current cap is 40. From time to time TL will try different caps with different groups of players.

Who is Stormie?
Stormie is the Teamlava display kingdom. You can visit Stormie to bump up your social rating. You call also send requests which Stormie will respond to. You can't delete Stormie.
-
Why is the land I expanded to clear?
While most blocks have a variety of items there are a couple that have nothing on them. Think of it as a good way to have space to build without have to use energy to clear it.
-
How do I get more Wood and Stone?
You've got a couple of different options. In my opinion your best bet is to have mines and sawmills. They give multiple wood/stone with the chance of other items.
Wood - you can buy trees but these take time and energy to grow. If you don't need the sap from the tree buy old logs, dead trees and plant in a log for wood. My pick is the old log and dead trees.
Stone - if you also need iron ore buy the iron rich rocks. If iron ore isn't as important you can buy small rock piles or rock outcroppings.
To buy any of these items go to the Market, then Nature, scroll through till you find the item.
-
How come I don't have anymore quests?
There could be a couple of reasons for this.
1. You may not have the latest version installed
2. You may have completed all the available quests. If that's the case you will to wait for the next update.
3. There may be something that you need to do to trigger the quest. Try these threads for info:

A Neighbour has a quest from the Tablet of Tabernum. How come I can't get it?
First you have to unlock the Tablet. Then you have to be lucky enough to get a Knowledge Shard when collecting from it. These shards are a very rare drop.
For more info see this thread.
-
How do I unlock the Magic Garden?
You need to complete the Ivy quests up to finishing her Hut. Once you have collected from the Hut a "?" should appear over the Garden. Clicking on this should give you the next lot of quests needed to unlock the Garden.
If this isn't working for you try force closing your game, going back into it and clicking on the Garden.
See this section of Dabag's goal thread for the steps. This section shows the expansions needed.
-
Why is a particular recipe not showing in my crafting building?
Some items only appear in the crafting buildings when you are doing the quest. They won't be there before you do the quest and they disappear once you have finished the quest.
Example - Magic Pages won't show in your workshop until you have done the Magic Ink & Pages quest.
-
How do I unlock Ivy's Hot Sauce?
These goal is triggered by harvesting a Hot Pepper. You have to be at level 17 for this to occur. It may require you to harvest a couple of peppers.
Even if you are maxed for Hot Peppers (99) you can trigger this by harvesting a pepper.
-
I have a goal that needs me to harvest/collect x (or I need to trigger a goal by that) but when I collect it I'm told I have to much. Is there anything I can do?
TL has implemented a fix to allow you to trigger goals even if you are maxed with the item. You may need to try collecting the item a number of times before it triggers.
-
How come my neighbour got a certain item from an adventure and I didn't?
The items that you get from an Adventure is a bit of a lucky prize dip. You'd get a chance of getting up to 5 times the money you paid (it can also be less). You also get a chance of Energy, common items, rare items and some adventure only items.
If your neighbour got something you didn't they were just lucky on that try. Keep trying and you could get something good to.
-
How do I rotate walls?
Walls rotate automatically. Just place the walls where you want them to go. Eg place two going left to right then one above them to form a corner

Walls have limits? Really?
The number of Walls you can have is limited by your level. I believe this is because they are the most cost effective source of Royal Points. For a lot of levels you will only be able to add 1 Wall/level. Once you hit level 23 the amount you can add increases each level.
See this thread on the wall limit.
edit(KP) Update on wall limit: 9-12-14

-
How do I request items?
To request gifts write on your own wall or your neighbours wall asking them to send you a particular gift(s). As people can only send 3 a day you'll find most are slowly returning gifts to people who have sent gifts to them.
To request materials for a quest go into the quest and press the "Ask" button en select who you will send the request to. As you can only get 20 requests per day, send the request to about 25 neighbours you know are playing daily and will accept. This will stop you from clogging your system.
-
How do I collect tips/remove sparkles?
When the building is ready for collection (has a coin or bag icon over it) click on the icon. You will collect the original rent/items plus a bonus xp and 20% increase in rent.
You can also store and place your buildings. This clears the building without using energy but you done get the income/items/xp.
-
I got the Storage Cellar. Why hasn't my inventory increased?
The Storage Cellar allows you to store buildings and some decorations. This can help free up valuable space for crops or better buildings. Your inventory max is 99 and does not change with the Storage Cellar.
-
Where do I get coal?
You can buy small rocks, rock outcroppings and iron rich rocks in the market (you can also get them with expanding). Also invest in sparkling and deep mines.
-
I got a message I have too many buildings so I can't build a new one. I stored a building and still can't build. Why not?
The number of buildings is determined by your level and the building type. For info on that see this post.
Stored buildings still count towards the total. You will need to sell a building of the same type in order to build the new one.

How do I get the Golden Nugget?
I have received the nugget from mining rocks and from my sparkling mines. I know someone who says they've got it from a pond but I haven't been able to verify that.
-
Where do I get the Golden Egg?
I've received these from chickens and from hatcheries.
