Ugh I thought we needed to visit the mine so I'd wondered if coding for this event affected other drops. It looks like it's sawmills not mines.

Hello everyone once again…I have a question that has confused me. Why do we want to hold back on collecting scorchwood. I understand we don’t want to end the goal. What I don’t get is my goal doesn’t end unless i go to fairie garden and hit build no matter how much scorched wood I collect. If I have all the items required to finish building the fairie garden it still won’t build until I hit build. At least on my iPad that’s how it works. I know I must be missing something. Can someone explain what it is?
Thank you ahead of time. Also if anyone needs someone that sends back requests feel free to add me same name as here. Good luck everyone.
If you want to keep collecting Soft Fur drops from the Firefox, you need to stop the sidequest (A Fairy Strange Predicament) from autocompleting.

The easiest way to do that without affecting other drops is to Not collect ahead on Scorchwood, since it can easily be gotten by chopping those trees, no timer collects/growing anything. The sidequest is not related to a chapter goal, so holding off on doing the final chapter for the day won't stop the sidequest.
There was a sidequest in Chapter 2, I think, and there is definitely one in Chapter 4. I suspect there are 3 more near the end. So the only way to "collect ahead" on the 95 Soft Fur needed overall, is to wait (until you are ready to upgrade the building/advance to the next chapter) to let the sidequest auto-complete. Wake up, chop Scorchwood to upgrade the Garden, do the upgrade....the sidequest will autocomplete at that time. A number of us can only play a lot on weekends, so getting ahead on certain items can mean the difference between finishing an event, or not. For example, I can log in every half hour on weekends in between chores, I can't do that during the workweek. So I need to "collect ahead" to keep on track, otherwise I will fall behind on the chapters. And logging in every 1/2 hour to do collections on a weekend is much more doable than attempting every 10 min for, say, 2-3 hours midweek. Some of the later chapters need 20 fur, that is hours of collecting every 10 minutes! The fur is not a guaranteed drop (it hasn't been for me, anyway), and if your account is unlucky for this event, you will need the extra collections.
I have gotten an extra Firefox on a few accounts from the Adventure, so I recommend doing them as much as possible. There are 3 days in a row that need 20 fur per day, so that's a lot of days I Don't want to have to do hours of 10 min collections. Adventures also give extra flowers, and scorched grass. So Adventuring as much as possible will help, since Adventures can drop "extra" over the max of an item we have a purchase limit, in addition to dropping items we craft or collect.
I hope this makes sense, we are quite choked up by wildfire smoke & I am not thinking clearly lately. This event, sadly, is a very fitting one for parts of the world that are having wildfire/bushfire issues.
Anyone who has crafted their scorched hog, are you still getting them to spawn from farmhouses?
So basically keep collecting from the Firefoxes and Scorched Flowers but wait on chopping wood until you’re ready to finish the daily goal of upgrading the Garden. Makes sense now. By doing this you can continue to keep collecting items for the next levels vs just upgrading the garden and waiting until the next day to resume collecting. The only issue I could see with that would be if you ended up with enough of the scorched wood from doing adventures so the game would auto-complete but that would mean a lot of adventures!
Thanks to everyone for helping!
HI, My three adult Firefox animals have stopped dropping the soft fur. None since I upgraded to the faerie garden to level 3. Anyone else?
